<div style="text-align: justify;">
**Warning: You are going to need a ticket to this post... to this gun post. Because there's so many muscles!** BA-DU-DUM-CHHH</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have had these white wine and garlic roasted muscles in my freezer for a week or two, and tonight they were finally used! Of course I paired them with a delicous bed of linguini. Delicious!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H7Fo8qDl0rY/T_ovpfCL7GI/AAAAAAAADUA/2wKrx6p7frU/s1600/DSC_1333.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H7Fo8qDl0rY/T_ovpfCL7GI/AAAAAAAADUA/2wKrx6p7frU/s1600/DSC_1333.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I seasoned the linguini with:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
garlic powder</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
salt</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
pepper</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
italian seasoning</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then topped it off with:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
white truffle oil</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
parmesean cheese</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I was slightly torn when I was getting ready to plate the food because I had one perfect plate, made by Connor, and then about 6 so-so plates I found at a thrift shop. The so-so plates are usually perfect for my food, but linguni calls for a slightly deeper plate, and that is what Connor's offers. So he proposed this: "Why don't we just be super cute and eat off of the same plate?" So we did.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
PS. This whole dinner took us roughly 30 minutes to cook and eat. :)</div>

1. I want to thank you guys for continuing to comment on here through my absence. I can't even believe that people are being so kind, and it is really encouraging to keep on going. :)<br />
<br />
I'm kind of afraid to count how long it has been since I last posted on here... because I know it has been an unruly amount of time. So for that, I applogize. I think what I was originally set on doing with this blog is documenting the <i>cool</i> things that I make and eat. But I think that from now on, I will just document the things that I eat, cool or not.<br />

Starting with this morning...<br />

Pancakes made with pancake mix from the dollar store and a few frozen blueberries. These bowls are from the dollar store too! Why are we eating pancakes out of bowls, you might ask? Well, because in this apartment, we don't get around to running the dishwasher often enough. And for some reason, bowls and forks are always the first to run out.<br />
<br />
Any cool new ways you guys like to cook pancakes? I'm always looking for a new fruit to put in them that tastes super duper yummy</div>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05473936446091366973noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4561191290393680945.post-56878093050364762462011-12-27T15:01:00.000-08:002011-12-27T15:02:11.627-08:00Maple Bacon Grilled CheeseIt is foods like this that I really need to stay away from, because after finding<br />
a picture of this elsewhere on the internet, I knew that it was something that I had to try.<br />
<b>But now, I want to eat it all the time... not good for my thighs.</b><br />
<br />
So I caution you as you read forward, <b>do not fall victim to this delicious sandwich,</b><br />
you can resist eating it every day... you have self control!<br />
<br />
This is the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Turkey Bacon, Maple Syrup, and Apple Butter:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wr80R6txoeI/TvpKy_CQ6eI/AAAAAAAACJE/_EZBhODrGdU/s1600/DSC_0591.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wr80R6txoeI/TvpKy_CQ6eI/AAAAAAAACJE/_EZBhODrGdU/s640/DSC_0591.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H-MujDpLi3U/TvpKzx8po9I/AAAAAAAACJM/4AjOS6wywgY/s1600/DSC_0592.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H-MujDpLi3U/TvpKzx8po9I/AAAAAAAACJM/4AjOS6wywgY/s640/DSC_0592.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MmVM-YfY2DA/TvpK041RGPI/AAAAAAAACJU/WjyjgID01oQ/s1600/DSC_0594.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MmVM-YfY2DA/TvpK041RGPI/AAAAAAAACJU/WjyjgID01oQ/s640/DSC_0594.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ingredients:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 Slice of Turkey Bacon</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 Slices of French Bread (substitute and bread that tickles your fancy)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 Slices of cheese singles. I chose kraft.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 Dollop of Apple Butter</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A splash of maple syrup</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
All you need to do is get out a large frying pan, heat it up to medium and start frying your bacon.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is going to give you a little bit of grease and flavor on the pan for your bread.. yum.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Use cooking spray or butter to grease the other half of your pan as well as one side of each of your slices of bread.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Once this is done, just place the buttered sides down on the pan and toast those babies. You can also add</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
your cheese slices now, one on each piece of bread.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Now construct your sandwich!</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Smoosh those two slices of bread together in the pan, and cook until both of the sides are toasted to your liking...</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Now to plate: Go ahead and slide your sandwich onto a plate, put your cooked bacon slice on top, and garnish with our two dipping sauces :)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>How gourmet, right?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
At first I was kinda grossed out by the idea, but I was bored, hungry, and curious enough to try it, as I am hoping you are too.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
But it is DELICIOUS!!!! You just have to try it.<b> GOOD LUCK!</b></div>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05473936446091366973noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4561191290393680945.post-27494390751495588552011-12-08T11:03:00.001-08:002011-12-08T11:37:59.269-08:00Tell Me About Calamari.As I was surfing the interwebz this afternoon, calamari came to my mind... <b>on two separate occasions. </b><br />
First when I was on Tumblr and saw a picture of fried calamari with marinara,<br />
and second when I saw something on my blog roll that looked a lot like calamari steak but wasn't.<br />
I got squid on the mind!<br />
<br />
So my question is, how difficult would it be for me to attain some good quality calamari<br />
and to cook it in a delicious way? I live in Midwestern College Town, USA so there aren't<br />
any local fish markets that I can swing by... so I am limited to the super market.<br />
My personal preference is Kroger, but Jewel might be the better contender.<br />
I would definitely have a better chance of finding some when I go home for Christmas Break.<br />
<br />
I would like to use calamari steaks like this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.giovannisfishmarket.com/content/cachedthumbnails/420.size-550-file-420-jpg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="479" src="http://www.giovannisfishmarket.com/content/cachedthumbnails/420.size-550-file-420-jpg.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The best tasting squid steak I have ever had was at Kiku Japanese Steakhouse, just plain hibachi style.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I can only tell that they pre flour the steaks, and then cook them in oil and butter with salt and pepper.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I'm assuming the amazing flavor comes from the type of oil they use.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://img.ehowcdn.com/article-page-main/ehow/images/a04/kg/ll/cook-squid-steak-800x800.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="391" src="http://img.ehowcdn.com/article-page-main/ehow/images/a04/kg/ll/cook-squid-steak-800x800.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I can't find any pictures of what it actually looks like after it is cooked, so I'll have to go sometime soon to take some photos :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Do you guys know of any good recipes or other ways to cook calamari?</div>
<br />

as of lately I have been making the transition to fall foods and really acquiring the richer winter palate that<br />
everyone develops this time of year.<br />
It's all about big comfy knit sweaters, my favorite socks, cheese, butternut squash, tomato, pumpkin, pork, and allspice.<br />
<br />
There are several recipes that I have been contemplating lately such as:<br />
Macaroni and Grilled Cheese<br />
Tomato Soup... (I have never liked it, but really want to)<br />
Pumpkin Bread *note* I am a horrible and destructive baker.<br />
Pork Chops<br />
Pulled Pork<br />
Beef Stew<br />
etc.<br />
<br />
Please if you have any suggestions for recipes that you particularly enjoy, leave a link or comment.<br />
I would love to try it out and post about it!<br />
<br />
In the meantime take a look at these recipes I found appealing:<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U2XnbfZLx6A/TnzUcBiMKXI/AAAAAAAABr8/v6ZgoMQCyqE/s1600/DSC_0895.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="422" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U2XnbfZLx6A/TnzUcBiMKXI/AAAAAAAABr8/v6ZgoMQCyqE/s1600/DSC_0895.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First things first, pre-heat your oven to 425.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To prepare your toast, cut the crust off and slice a 1 inch square in the middle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>DO NOT CUT ALL THE WAY THROUGH!</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You are going to use this 'box' as a cup for your egg yolk later, so compress the square down with the</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
back of your knife or your finger... whatever :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Once your oven is finished pre-heating, pop the toast in on a cookie sheet for about 3 to 5 minutes so</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
that it is starting to brown on the edges.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>All the while...</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You are going to want to get your asparagus, cut it into bite size pieces and heat them in a pan</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
with a little bit of olive oil, salt, and pepper. If you like your asparagus crunchy like I do, then this</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
should really only take about 3 minutes. Once they are done just scatter them on the plate, kinda like a garnish.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Once the toast is out, go ahead and pour the yolk into your box and put your cheese around the edges.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When you put the toast back into the oven it wont be for a specific amount of time... all you need to do is watch the cheese. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Once the cheese is ooey and gooey and dripping over the edges, you can take the toast out. The yolk should be runny.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

Artichokes!<br />
Seeing that the only forms of artichoke I have ever eaten is smothered in<br />
cheese or in pasta, I figured to really get to know the vegetable,<br />
I needed it in a very simplified form. Broiled.<br />
<br />
The preparation and cooking are just as simple as the flavor...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F1zObQnkFWU/TnuOhuaPl1I/AAAAAAAABrI/vinXj2MGoEA/s1600/DSC_0778.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F1zObQnkFWU/TnuOhuaPl1I/AAAAAAAABrI/vinXj2MGoEA/s1600/DSC_0778.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oxCdlpv0Isw/TnuOi8uTJ8I/AAAAAAAABrM/WzvE4BZocOE/s1600/DSC_0787.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oxCdlpv0Isw/TnuOi8uTJ8I/AAAAAAAABrM/WzvE4BZocOE/s1600/DSC_0787.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kuDN7R_rUuY/TnuOkEqdcrI/AAAAAAAABrQ/Id8Xuo8-YdM/s1600/DSC_0794.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kuDN7R_rUuY/TnuOkEqdcrI/AAAAAAAABrQ/Id8Xuo8-YdM/s1600/DSC_0794.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Ingredients</b>:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 Artichoke</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1/2 of a lemon</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 garlic cloves</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 Tablespoon of Olive oil</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Salt + Pepper</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
(Preheat the oven to 425)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
All you need to do to prepare the artichoke is cut off the stem, and the top inch or so of the leaves...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
they aren't edible. Once you have that done, you can start spreading the leaves apart </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
so that all of the flavors of the juices you add later can drip down into the <b>crevices</b>...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Before you start adding the seasonings, put the artichoke on a piece of tin foil </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
with a tiny bit of olive oil to make sure it doesn't stick at all.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Squeeze your lemon over the artichoke, making sure it is evenly distributed</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next, drizzle your olive oil over the entire artichoke, adding more depending on your personal taste.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now, shove the two garlic cloves into the leaves...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
and sprinkle with salt and pepper.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Wrap your artichoke up in the tinfoil making sure nothing is exposed!</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And pop it in the oven.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now comes the hard part... <b>waiting</b>. 1 1/2 hours. For an artichoke.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
(My artichoke was fairly large, so for a medium I would only do 1 hour and 15 minutes or so...)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QpZdaEE7ov4/TnuOljhEOKI/AAAAAAAABrU/tpUeLEsWtRc/s1600/DSC_0797.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="940" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QpZdaEE7ov4/TnuOljhEOKI/AAAAAAAABrU/tpUeLEsWtRc/s1600/DSC_0797.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>The finished product...</b></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AZfNyKOwDEg/TnuOm67NPII/AAAAAAAABrY/tDL-mNm2l6Y/s1600/DSC_0803.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AZfNyKOwDEg/TnuOm67NPII/AAAAAAAABrY/tDL-mNm2l6Y/s1600/DSC_0803.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
How to eat: Pull the leaves out one by one and scrape the meatiness off of the bottom with your teeth.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It may take some trial and error to figure out what is and is not edible.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Or you could always dive in face first and see how it goes.</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
** You may want some sauce to dip it in... what kind, is up to you. Be creative! && Enjoy :)</div>

Is it so strange that I want to eat this candle?<br />
<br />
This is a <b>Woodwick Candle</b>, and I highly suggest you all give one of these a try.<br />
They are appropriately names because of their wooden wick, which crackles as it burns...<br />
Kind of like Rice Crispies, but better.<br />
<br />
This flavor is <b>Rum Raisin</b>, and it reminds me of the delicious smell that fills a warm kitchen while raisin bread, or bread pudding is baking in the oven. Very fall.<br />
<br />
<b>Oh, it also reminds me of the fact that I can't bake for shit.</b><br />
<br />
Any good recipes for raisin bread or something of the sort for the baking handicapped?Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05473936446091366973noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4561191290393680945.post-37752928534815265332011-08-20T21:35:00.000-07:002012-07-08T18:19:34.746-07:00Turkey Meatballs w/ Truffle Risotto<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

<b>Ingredients:</b></div>

2 Cloves of garlic</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First, place the ground turkey into a large bowl. </div>

Add 1 clove of minced garlic, salt, pepper, and italian seasoning to taste. </div>

As you are doing this, you can heat your pan adding enough olive oil so that every </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
meatball is able to sit in it. And you can<b> start warming your stock in another pot.</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Once the oil is hot enough (becomes a little less viscous) you can add your meatballs, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
be careful not to let them touch or they will cook together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'd say about 8 to 10 minutes on each side, and then waiting until browned.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now that your meatballs are cooking, you can start on the risotto.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Heat a pan wide enough that the risotto lays flat and does not pile up at all. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Add your butter first and then add your olive oil in equal parts so that they completely cover the pan.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Add your second clove of minced garlic and let it simmer for a little until you add your risotto.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You want to let the risotto cook in the oil and butter until it all becomes see through except for the ends.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Once it is see through, you can add one ladle of your boiling stock, stirring until the risotto soaks up all </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
of the moisture... you are going to repeat this until your stock is gone.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Ladle, stir, soak, ladle, stir, soak...</b> once all of your stock is gone, take a little taste test to see if the risotto is soft or to your liking.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
By now, the meatballs are definitely done cooking and can be turned off if they are at nice golden brown.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now, you add your spinach and romano cheese to the risotto, stirring until it is completely melted.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Plate your risotto, drizzle with about a tablespoon of truffle oil, and top with meatballs. & Serve!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I know you will be deeply satisfied with this meal, it is surprisingly filling but not heavy enough that you feel like you just ate two big macs.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Enjoy, my fellow foodies.</div>

</div><div style="text-align: left;">It is a<b> Cannellini Bean Soup</b> (vegetarian, for my sister) with a delicious <b>Arugula salad</b>.</div><div style="text-align: left;">At first I was sad that I couldn't use chicken stock instead of vegetable,</div><div style="text-align: left;">but it turned out tasting delicious anyway.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pW009NvgiKQ/TkBwAFRWNtI/AAAAAAAABlw/TDOy2BH72jQ/s1600/DSC_0559.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pW009NvgiKQ/TkBwAFRWNtI/AAAAAAAABlw/TDOy2BH72jQ/s1600/DSC_0559.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<b>Directions</b>:<br />
Add the beans and stock to a pot with a thick bottom and bring to a boil.<br />
Once the beans are heated and softened, take about half of the beans and a little stock<br />
and put them into a food processor/ blender and create a smooth puree.<br />
Add the puree back to the soup and stir well.<br />
<br />
Bring the soup back to a boil, and add the pasta, stirring so that it does not stick.<br />
Cook for 8 to 10 minutes. While cooking the pasta, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil<br />
in a small pan with the chopped garlic, only cooking for 30 seconds or so. Do not burn!!!<br />
<br />
Add the garlic to the soup, along with the parsley, salt, and pepper.<br />
You can now serve your soup with shaved romano cheese on top, <b>yummm</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://a.yfrog.com/img738/9278/zlekp.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://a.yfrog.com/img738/9278/zlekp.jpg" width="478" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Unlike my recent pizza mishap, <b>this soup and salad dinner, WAS DELICIOUS.</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I would recommend this recipe to anyone and everyone. It was plenty filling because </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">of the thickness and the amount of pasta. Definitely something I would have enjoyed </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">when I was little too...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It didn't take long at all with the canned beans apposed to the raw ones, and I'd like to think that</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">it was fairly healthy for you... no huge sources of fat, except for the olive oil, but thats whatever ;)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Oh and this random photo on the bottom is my new <b>truffle infused olive oil</b>! I had to get this little</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">bottle for a number of reasons; One, I have never really tried truffle oil before, except at a restaurant</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">on top of popcorn chicken and popcorn with white cheddar. So it was pretty masked.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The other reason being that the larger bottle of pure truffle oil (not that much larger) was</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>3 times the price</b>... yeah not for me in this point of my life :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It says on the bottle that this oil is especially good on risotto... <b>I smell a new recipe coming...</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Hope you enjoy the food! </b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

Although it is known to be</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">dangerous going grocery shopping on an empty stomach, we went. And without a concrete recipe in mind.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Btw, I didn't win the challenge... I ended up buying some impulse candied kiwi slices.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So, after roaming the isles of Kroger, this is what we ended up with: Cajun Fish Tacos.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

This dinner was so satisfying and delicious, it was sinful. Of course, half of the credit absolutely goes<br />
to Kroger for carrying that delicious, pre-seasoned, frozen fish. But the rest was all fresh ingredients that were amazing together.<br />
<br />
Plus, each filet was only around 150 calories, so this was almost a guiltless dinner... as for the cheese... I don't know.<br />

This weekend while 'vacationing' down in Normal, Connor, my boyfriend, and I<br />
went out to get a late dinner at the diner under my apartment complex.<br />
<br />
It is called <b>Merry Ann's </b>and is definitely going to be the go-to place for a late night snack<br />
and the best hangover cure seeing that it is open 24 hours.<br />
<br />
Here we are drinking our refreshing and extremely affordable smoothies. Mine: mango, his: strawberry.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GhnWICaMc08/TjDUxsf5lQI/AAAAAAAABc0/2ZXagqKD3AU/s1600/DSC_0560.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="940" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GhnWICaMc08/TjDUxsf5lQI/AAAAAAAABc0/2ZXagqKD3AU/s1600/DSC_0560.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lm2g6RGrLwU/TjDUz1hy4yI/AAAAAAAABc8/0Z6TGFydyOg/s1600/DSC_0562.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="940" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lm2g6RGrLwU/TjDUz1hy4yI/AAAAAAAABc8/0Z6TGFydyOg/s1600/DSC_0562.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
The strawberry was really light and didn't taste like they added any sugary syrups, which was great.<br />
And the mango, actually tasted like mango (<b>and I know my mangos</b>).<br />
This place is definitely going to be the death of me, my weight, and my wallet.<br />
<br />
Along with the smoothies, I ordered a grilled cheese, and Connor got a ham and cheese omelet.<br />
Honestly, the <b>BEST</b>, most <b>delicious</b>, melt in your mouth, classic <b>American</b> grilled cheese you will ever eat.<br />
<br />
I die for this sandwich.<br />
I only hope that all of you are given the chance to eat something so life-altering. :)Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05473936446091366973noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4561191290393680945.post-33196950768953540392011-07-25T19:21:00.000-07:002011-07-25T19:21:41.283-07:00Noob CookI just came across this website, that I'm sure some of you already know of, called Noob Cook.<br />
It is a recipe website, but what stood out about it to me was the "Food-tography" tab.<br />
<br />
I just recently got a new lens for my camera, and it makes taking pictures of food so much more enjoyable.<br />
So lately I have been really into food photography aka food-tography.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2537/4218301915_f1d9e02bae_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2537/4218301915_f1d9e02bae_o.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br />
<br />
Noob Cook not only has cool recipes, but it is great for the bored cook surfing the web.<br />
<br />
Visit it <a href="http://www.noobcook.com/">here</a>.<br />
<br />
And, stay tuned for many gorgeous photos of my own :)Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05473936446091366973noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4561191290393680945.post-2580313797094292142011-07-21T21:37:00.000-07:002011-07-21T21:37:12.357-07:00Potato and Onion FrittersHello all!<br />
Here is another recipe that was really easy and fun to make, that I cooked on a whim.<br />
<br />
<b>These are Potato and Onion Fritters</b><br />
I was craving crab cakes, but in my home, we don't have lump crab meat on hand. So, next best thing,<br />
potato pancakes! I was also craving something crunchy, and thought a vegetable fritter would be delicious.<br />
<br />
Problem:<br />
The only veggies in my fridge were lettuce, celery, and onions. I think you can piece together the rest of the puzzle.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6018/5963216996_217cfc92aa_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6018/5963216996_217cfc92aa_b.jpg" width="478" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><b>Ingredients</b>:</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 Baking Potato</div><div style="text-align: center;">1/4 Chopped Onion</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 Tbsp of Garlic</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 Egg</div><div style="text-align: center;">A hand full of bread crumbs (crushed croutons in my case)</div><div style="text-align: center;">Salt</div><div style="text-align: center;">Pepper</div><div style="text-align: center;">Olive Oil</div><div style="text-align: center;">Sour Cream to top</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">To begin, skin your potato and cut it into four pieces. Put these four pieces along with the </div><div style="text-align: left;">garlic into a small pot and fill with enough water so that the potatoes are submerged.</div><div style="text-align: left;">Let them simmer for about 15 minutes or until you can stick a fork through the potatoes.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Add the chopped onions to the boiling water and cook for only 2 minutes more. </div><div style="text-align: left;">Then drain the potatoes, and put them into a new bowl. </div><div style="text-align: left;">Roughly mash the potatoes leaving enough chunks to keep a good texture.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">You want to let the potatoes cool for a little before adding the egg, because if they are too hot, </div><div style="text-align: left;">you will have breakfast. Mix in the egg, add some salt and pepper to taste, and let the mixture </div><div style="text-align: left;">sit in the fridge for a few minutes. </div><div style="text-align: left;">( I took this time to clean up the<b> disaster of a mess </b>that I left everywhere.)</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Now fill a sauce pan with about a half inch of olive oil, or any oil you would like to use for frying, </div><div style="text-align: left;">and let it heat. Make patties out of your cooled potato mixture, and drop them into the oil! </div><div style="text-align: left;">Fry until golden brown.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>There you have it</b>. Potato and Onion Fritters.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>*You could add bacon bits and cheddar cheese to make them taste more like a delicious baked potato,</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>OR you could add more veggies like zucchini with parmesan cheese. </b></div>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05473936446091366973noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4561191290393680945.post-91929977910999003362011-07-16T21:40:00.001-07:002011-07-16T21:40:58.657-07:00Kimbra- Settle Down<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="425" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/12473133?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="600"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://vimeo.com/12473133">Kimbra - Settle Down</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/forum5">Forum5 Recordings</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com/">Vimeo</a>.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Yesterday while I was at work, I was not only seating people and cleaning menus, but also working on a list for myself.<br />
<br />
<b>This list is of things that I want to learn to cook/ come up with my own recipes for.</b><br />
I would start with foods and veggies that I have never really cooked with before and think of things that might taste good with them:<br />
<br />
<ol><li>Avocado in pasta</li>
<li>Avocado Puree Soup</li>
<li>Butternut Squash Soup</li>
<li>Butternut Squash in Pasta</li>
<li>Artichoke recipes</li>
<li>Spinach and Artichoke Dip</li>
<li>Lamb with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Artichoke Chips</li>
<li>Tuna Tartare</li>
<li>Pizza Margherita</li>
<li>Home Made Pasta- Fettucini</li>
</ol><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thefatlossauthority.com/fat_loss_tips/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/avocado-image.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; display: inline !important; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; color: black;"></span></a><a href="http://simplyrecipes.com/photos/artichoke.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="132" src="http://simplyrecipes.com/photos/artichoke.jpg" width="200" /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; color: black;"><a href="http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll233/puck511/tatare.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll233/puck511/tatare.jpg" style="cursor: move;" width="200" /></a></span></div><div><br />
I am most excited for #7 because I have never cooked lamb and because what I'm picturing in my mind</div><div>is a very pretty plate of food :)</div><div><br />
</div><div><b>If you guys have recipes that might work for any of the items on the list, let me know! I am very interested to hear from you.</b></div>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05473936446091366973noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4561191290393680945.post-69447275047402035132011-07-14T10:24:00.000-07:002011-07-14T10:24:07.299-07:00The Rock Restaurant - Normal, Il<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My First Gyro Experience!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6138/5928598600_305b6edc6f_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="800" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6138/5928598600_305b6edc6f_b.jpg" width="600" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This is a gyro topped with feta cheese from <b>The Rock Restaurant</b> in Normal, Il. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I was kind of hesitant to go in there at first, because I have never had a gyro before. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The meat freaks me out... I never really understood what it was. :) </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For some stupid reason I imagined the little speckles as dirt.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">But, The Rock Restaurant proved me wrong! It was really good... the tzatziki sauce on top</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">was so refreshing and addicting. It wasn't greasy and didn't make me feel like garbage for eating it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The only negative thing I could say about my meal is that it was way too much food for me.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">But I do tend to have that '<b>bigger eyes than your stomach</b>' syndrome...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This restaurant has definitely inspired me to be more adventurous in the Greek food world.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>What are some good classic Greek dishes that I could make or possibly order at a restaurant?</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div>Ericahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05473936446091366973noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4561191290393680945.post-85076246496521196082011-07-13T00:15:00.000-07:002011-07-13T00:15:59.431-07:00How To Be A Better BloggerI know you all know what I am talking about; the obnoxious comments such as,<br />
<br />
<i>"Nice post, check out my blog at www.iobviouslydidnteventakethetimetoreadyourpost.com</i><br />
<i>lovexoxoxoxoxox,</i><br />
<i>spammer."</i><br />
<br />
Comments like those are the equivalent to those girls you knew in highschool that put you down behind<br />
your back, but pretended like you were best friends to your face... and then, when you're back from<br />
school for the summer, you run into one of them and they expect you to smile and say hello... (is it<br />
obvious I speak from experience?)<br />
<br />
Why start a relationship on a superficial and transparent note, when you could just take the extra<br />
ounce of brainpower to read through a few of their posts, and see what you like about their blog?<br />
<br />
<b>Making connections and blogosphere friends will seriously boost your readership and most likely</b><br />
<b>improve you as a blogger.</b><br />
<br />
So lets cut to the chase, follow these steps and you can be on your way to new readers, friends, and<br />
inspiration.<br />
<div style="text-align: left;"></div><ol><li>Go to your three favorite blogs.</li>
<li>Read through each of their most recent posts in entirety.</li>
<li>Post a comment stating what you liked, how it made you feel, something it reminded you of, ANYTHING that shows you have original thoughts. *</li>
<li>Look through each of their comment sections, and choose three bloggers that also commented. *</li>
<li>Visit their blogs one by one, and repeat steps 2-5.</li>
</ol><br />
<br />
Starting to see how this could help? It's like a dominos effect; <b>the more blogs you visit, the more </b><br />
<b>connections you could potentially be making</b>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dq8n0Xk9Pkc/Th1FnRSWPMI/AAAAAAAABcE/hlVAySXuSgM/s1600/Picture+1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dq8n0Xk9Pkc/Th1FnRSWPMI/AAAAAAAABcE/hlVAySXuSgM/s1600/Picture+1.png" /></a></div><br />
*You can leave your link in the post, because it is the easiest way for them to get back to you, but<br />
do not add, "look at my blog too" or "return the favor" because they don't have to if they don't want.<br />
And in a lot of cases, those simple phrases can really piss someone off.<br />
I think it is best when you use your link as an extension of your signature, just like say, Bill Gates would sign his messages:<br />
<br />
Bill Gates<br />
Extremely Rich Man<br />
<br />
You get it.<br />
<br />
*Everyone who left a comment on the post immediately shares something in common with you, because<br />
you both like the same blog and had an opinion about the content. That's a great place to start, right?<br />
<br />

</div><div class="" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">So, after assessing the things we have in our fridge, I came up with this:</div><div class="" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-x0NLSCyzIe0/ThuWMHsYqdI/AAAAAAAABb0/ftLI4TlDrso/s1600/IMG_0146.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="800" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-x0NLSCyzIe0/ThuWMHsYqdI/AAAAAAAABb0/ftLI4TlDrso/s1600/IMG_0146.jpg" width="600" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">Ingredients you will need:</div><div class="" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">A box of linguini pasta (how much you cook is up to you)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">1/3 cup of Milk</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">1 tablespoon of butter</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">1/2 of a lemon, or lemon juice</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">1/2 cup of grated extra sharp white cheddar</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">Basil</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">I started by boiling a single serving of linguini. Then, I poured a bit of milk </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">into a small sauce pot, and about a tablespoon of butter, and stirred the two </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">until the butter was melted. To that I added a squeeze of lemon, and set it aside </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">always stirring every so often.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">Then I got out a block of extra sharp white cheddar cheese. (Tillamook brand from Costco)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">I finely grated the cheese until I had about a 1/2 cup.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">After straining the al dente linguine and putting it back into the pot, I poured the milk and butter mixture </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">over top, until all was coated, I suggest not pouring it all on at once, but to save some to top the pasta after you plate it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">I stirred the linguini and lemon butter creme sauce and then added the white cheddar, mixing again until melted.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">And voila! There you have it! My beautiful lunch topped with dried basil.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;"><b>It. Was. So. Good.</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">Serving suggestion: Top it off with a little bit of lemon zest to make the flavor more prominent.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
Hello! My name is Erica, and I am excited to introduce<br />
to you, <b>Down Through My Ribs</b>, my new food blog.<br />
<br />
I started blogging first with my fashion blog, <a href="http://inthelightofstyle.blogspot.com/">In the Light of Style</a>, a year and a half ago.<br />
My interests had begun broadening into other aspects of life and style... and so here I am, with a food blog!<br />
<br />
Instead of boring my fashion readers with recipes when what they really want is outfits, I can now turn to you all :)<br />
<br />
So what can you expect to see from me?<br />
1. Recipes<br />
2. Photos of foods I enjoy<br />
3. Restaurant reviews<br />
4. A stylish take to the food world<br />
5. Great conversation<br />
<br />
I love<b> feedback, opinions, and advice</b>! So please, stay in touch!<br />
